PT Cruiser seen as a symbol of industry's problems
DETROIT — For many, news that Chrysler is about to stop making the PT Cruiser will come as a surprise: "Wait, they still make that car?" Yes, they still make that car. The last PT Cruiser will roll off the production line Friday in Toluca, Mexico. But the truck-like sedan that once was Chrysler's best-selling car has, in recent years, been dying a death of a thousand cuts. The PT Cruiser symbolizes much that's been wrong with the U.S. auto industry in the past few decades (even though Chrysler was owned by Germany's Daimler for most of the PT Cruiser's life). MyPT Social Network
The PT Cruiser Alliance has just introduced the MyPT Social Network on the website. The expansion was part of an upgrade to the user profile system. User profile pages have been upgrade to user personal home pages, allowing for user customizable additions to their page. Six user content positions have been added plus personal guestbooks, blogs, user customizable page backgrounds and text colors. This allows users to create a MySpace like social networking page complete with unique URLs. Pages are located at www.ptcruiseralliance.com/USERNAME.
We've also added groups to complete the package. Users can join existing groups or start their own. Each group has their own area with bulletin and private forum sections. Groups can be open to all, by invitaion, or private only. Group admins will also be able to mass email all users within the group.

American Heritage Cruise 2008
The Dream Cruisers PT Club kicked off their third fundraiser for the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund on June 6 th & 7 th at The Outlet Shoppes in Gettysburg, PA. While the weather was HOT and steamy everyone rallied to the cause. Through selling cash raffle tickets, Chinese Raffle tickets, the 50/50 raffle and t-shirt sales we were able to raise $9,830.00. A check, as well as money raised through t-shirt sales, were presented to Shannon Sullivan who was there representing the Freedom Alliance. Since the event, more cash has come in and our grand total on money raised for the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund is now at $10,000.00 We have not only met our goal but we have surpassed it. Everyone worked hard very hard to make this happen. A good job was done by all.

| PT Cruiser Alliance 1st Anniversary |

The PT Cruiser Alliance web site and forums are celebrating their 1st Anniversary, they went public in March 2, 2006. I was told then it would be hard to get people to use the site since there were already more than enough established "PT" sites in existance and interest has already peaked. However; this site was created to give me a way to be more involved in things and to try and make a difference in the PT Community; the premise being stated here on the main page. So, even if only a few people use it from time to time I'm good with that. |
