"Cruisin Against MS Club Challenge"

Background:
My wife, Jacki was diagnosed two years ago with Multiple Sclerosis after suffering with the symptoms for almost 10 years. I have to give my wife a lot of credit, MS is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks your nervous system. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of the disease cannot be predicted and symptoms may range from numbness to paralysis to blindness. I know this disease can tend to wear a person down but she never complains. She is always on the go with her job and taking care of us, it’s got to take it’s toll and she just pushes the MS aside to make it though another day. She’s a person that always put others first regardless of how she is feeling and I must admit, regrettably that sometimes I forget to take notice of that. I know that with such a strong will she will survive this disease and beat it.

Last Year:
We asked the Garden State Crewzers (our Home Club) for some support for Jacki's MS Walk. We hoped we'd get a few dollars in donations and some words of encouragement. What we ended up with was a 12 Member Team now established as Team Cruisin Against MS. These guys are dedicated...last year the walk was accompanied by what could be called a monsoon, yet they were all there for the day of the walk and "Team Cruisin Against MS" rasied $2110.00!
Present:
On Sunday, April 22, 2007 I, along with members from the Garden State Crewzers and others will be walking in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Mid-Jersey Chapter's 19th annual MS Walk to help end the devastating effects of MS. We will be representing Jacki Lakatos and her Team Cruisin Against MS at Gateway National Park Sandy Hook,NJ.
This year to help Jacki and Team Cruisin Against MS with our fundraising efforts to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis the Garden State Crewzers and Lone Wolf Outlaw Cruisers have initiated the following:
"Cruisin Against MS Club Challenge"
The Garden State Crewzers will present the club raising the most donations for the cause a Commemorative Plaque displaying their achievement. (Plaque donated by Jim Thistlewood and the LWOC) This award will be presented at the 7th Annual "Shore Thing". Winning club if in attendance will also have the honor of leading the parade through Sea Bright and have first seating for dinner.

The Club Challenge is open to all Local Level PT Cruiser Clubs, we ask that the National Level PT clubs/organizations refrain from entering the Club Challenge and instead support their local chapters if they wish to show their support.
Collected pledge money may be turned in preferably before, or at the event. All remaing pledges must be received by the National MS Society or be submitted via Credit Card online by June 15, 2007. It will the take the National MS Society approximately 15-30 days to verify our totals. Once the totals are finalized we will announce the winner of thhe "Club Challenge" on this page.
A discussion area has also been created in the forums: Cruisin Against MS Discussion. we'll post updates and progress here as well as answer any questions.
